The Allen County Auxiliary Radio Service (ACARS)

The Northwest Ohio Amateur Radio Club (NWOARC), in order to prepare a source of volunteer amateur radio operators to provide auxiliary communications for the county, is creating a field service organization.

The name of that field service organization will be the Allen County Auxiliary Radio Service (ACARS).

The Allen County Auxiliary Radio Service (ACARS) is a volunteer group of licensed radio amateur, who have registered their capabilities and equipment for providing auxiliary communications as a public service to the community. The purpose of ACARS is to supplement communications in the event of a disaster, when regular communications fail or are inadequate.
